Philip A. Butcher

Philip was born and raised in Rogers, Ark., growing up with an early love of airplanes and flying.

Traveling with his Dad, on business trips in various aircraft, flying quickly became his passion. As a teenager he learned to fly R/C airplanes before learning to fly the real thing.

Philip began his flying career in 1984 when he received his private pilots license. After that Philip pressed on to complete his Commercial Pilot’s License in December of 1985, CFI in June 1986, and his ATP in July of 1989. With nearly 22 years as a professional pilot Philip has amassed an approximate total of 14,000 hours in more than 40 different types of aircraft, from a J-3 Cub to a Boeing 737.

In the spring of 2007, Philip began to teach his 15 year old daughter how to fly in a J-3 Cub and the SNJ-6, preparing her for her first solo flight shortly. Philip is thrilled that both of his children enjoy flying and spending time at the air shows together.

It wasn’t until the fall of 2005, with the support of his wife Pauline, that Philip started flying for fun, when he purchased his first T-6 (SNJ-6), N3639F. After training with several highly qualified pilots he started working on his aerobatics routine and continues to have fun working hard to improve his skill. Philip is also very excited that both of his children love flying and want to follow in his footsteps.
